The great population debate
So I came across this awhile back and thought it might be of some interest to a few people here. It is a debate between a Neo Malthusian and a vocal opponent.
I found the arguments contained within the debate unusually compelling, and I suspect that is partly due to the heavy weight on emotional arguments about attitude rather than pure logic. I think the attitude that expects disaster due to overpopulation is tangentially related to climate catastrophists, birds of a feather whose nihilism and pessimism about humanity's current trajectory impel them to promote more extreme solutions. And I find that last comparison interesting because I suspect that FAR fewer people are sympathetic to malthusian attitudes when it comes to population.
Here it is.
