Getting a Surface Pro on launch day...No pre-orders? Really?

So I went down to the local Microsoft Store (well, kiosk) and asked if I could reserve a Surface Pro unit on the 9th. I was told that on the 2nd, they would be "auctioning" (I think he meant raffling) off 25 reservation tickets. I can't make it there on the 2nd, so I'm assuming that those of us who don't get a ticket will just have to show up early on the 9th and hope to get one. They couldn't tell me how many units they would be getting or when they would be getting more in stock.

Do you think there's a good chance they'll sell out on launch day? I'm worried that since it's just a kiosk and not a full store that they won't get that many. Is BB or any other store carrying them? It's a little ridiculous that MS isn't taking pre-orders like they did with the RT. I'm trying to throw $1100 at them and they might make me wait...Maybe I'm being too needy by wanting it on launch day, but I'm not some 16 year old wanting to camp out waiting for an iPhone. For a something that's supposed to be a business machine, you would think they would just ship these out. I got the Lumia 920, Windows 8, and the Surface RT on launch days. Hell, I even got a WP7 on launch day (upgrading from my Windows Mobile 6.5). You would think MS would have some kind of loyalty program by now for those of us who have actually stuck with them and shown some faith through all this...
