Thunderbolt Accessories for a new rMBP and iMac
We recently purchased a rMBP (15") and iMac (27"). With these, our (new) iPad, (new) Apple TV, (recent) Airport Express, and our iPhones, I think it's safe to say we are now officially a "Mac Household".
So... Now that we have all this new shiny equipment, we need to accessorize.
The iPad (w/ Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard) and the iMac are mine, so I was thinking of a way to dock the iPad with the iMac. I'm sure there are charging cradles, but if anyone has any suggestions...
The rMBP is my fiance's, and since it only has a 256GB SSD, it'll need some sort of external storage option (maybe networked?).
I want to get a Time Capsule to back everything up, but I really like my Airport Express (though I could just use it somewhere else, maybe bridge my PS3 to get a faster connection and go 100% 802.11n).
My main question (as implied by the title) is what can I do in terms of Thunderbolt Accessories? I have a 3TB Fusion Drive on my iMac, so private storage won't be TOO much of a problem for me. I don't have a 2nd display (though maybe when a new thinner version comes I could pick that up). Besides that, what else is there?
I'm trying to solve a problem, not just accessorize for the hell of it, but maybe there's something I haven't considered?
So, my thoughts are:
- Get extra storage attached to my iMac (shared in the network).
- Time Capsule for backups
- Would the Time Capsule solve #1?
- What am I missing?
