Google Now praises Apple's iPad

Theres an interesting bug going around Google Now, Google’s personal assistant service on Android 4.1 Jellybean, where if you attempt to ask it “what is a giraffe” it returns a fairly interesting answer. The service first gives a brief sentence about our long-necked friends and before finishing speaks the expression “he then praises the iPad.”

This is not the first time we’ve seen bugs like this in voice recognition services. Apple’s Siri had a similar issue early last year where when asked “what is the best smartphone?” it would return Nokia’s Lumia 900 as the answer. Apple was swift to fix that error, and in this case there is already a bug report over at the Google bug tracker — I expect this will soon be patched.

Feel free to try this for yourselves, but for your convenience I have attached a video of Tom Warren trying it on his Galaxy Nexus.
