"But Windows Phone has a very low market share why are they so vocal? "

I bet you've heard this a few times, and you haven't just have a look at the any Microsoft vrs Google story . The impression here is created that every one who remotely defends Microsoft must have a windows phones device and since windows phones has such a low market share , comments with regards to the defense of Microsoft are very disproportional. Which can only be as a result of one thing , Microsoft is paying people to flood comments. If you have ever defended Microsoft on TheVerge , you might have heard this or called one; a Shill or an astroturfer Oddly enough the same people forget the fact that Microsoft have different services and devices other than windows phones.

Both Office and Windows run on over 1 billion computers around the world. Microsoft has sold over 50 million Xbox in the US alone. Hotmail/live/outlook has over 250million users.

This is a company which has been in existence for 25 years Isn't it plausible that at least some of these people will come to the defense of Microsoft without by virtue of the fact that they have a connection with Microsoft without ever owning a windows phone device? Is it by accident that most major Tech websites such as TheVerge, Arstechnica, CNET and even to a less extent Engadget have dedicated Microsoft writers?
