Asus Nexus 7

The Nexus 7 is still my favorite small tablet on the market. I briefly owned an iPad Mini, and despite having a worse tablet ecosystem, inferior build quality and no rear facing camera, the Nexus 7 is far more comfortable to hold (especially with one hand), has a much sharper screen, offers similar performance, has a superior OS and comes in at 60% cheaper.
When I first got my Nexus 7 some months ago, the tablet ecosystem was really lacking. But upscaled phone apps were doing the job in most departments. Now, that ecosystem has undoubtedly grown, and I expect it to continue to do so. Some might not like to admit it, but the truth is there are plenty of tablet optimized apps for Android. The Nexus 7 is a solid investment now. It is "good enough" in every area, and beats its competitors in others, such as the OS. And for £159? You can't go wrong.
