Amazon updates the discontinued Kindle Touch with Whispersync for Voice and time-to-read
Amazon has released a software update for the Kindle Touch, bringing many of the features the company touted on its new Kindle Paperwhite to the older, discontinued product. The automatic, over-the-air update adds a new user interface, Whispersync for Voice — which syncs bookmarks across both text and audio versions of a book — and allows you to track how much time you have left in a chapter based on your reading speed. Other features include enhanced parental controls and book samples, and the addition of book covers, recommended content, and the ability to navigate graphic novels. Although consumers can no longer purchase a new Kindle Touch directly from the manufacturer, it's nice to see that Amazon continues to support the older product with useful new features.
