Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy is nearly two months away from releasing its second act, and today we're getting another big peek at what the series' next film will look like. A new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has been released, and it gives more of a taste of what Bilbo and his cohort of dwarves will find as they head toward the Lonely Mountain. The trailer focuses on the dwarves moving nearer to reclaiming their homeland, while giving plenty of screentime to Orlando Bloom as he reprises his role of Legolas from Lord of the Rings — this time alongside Evangeline Lilly as the elf Tauriel.

The film's first trailer revealed one of the clearest looks yet at the Lonely Mountain's key resident, Smaug, depicting a massive beast with glowing orange eyes. But this latest trailer gives away even more: what exactly the devastating monster sounds like. Smaug's deep, rumbling growls only accentuate the trouble that Bilbo finds himself in at the trailer's end. For those who missed the trilogy's first act, there's still plenty of time to catch up: The Desolation of Smaug won't be hitting theaters until December 13th.
