IOS7 File Browser Mock Up
So, After thinking to myself How a system wide file manager could work whilst still being out of the way, I couldn't help myself and felt suddenly compelled to create a mockup,
A swipe up action (Similar to Control center, which would have to move to another part of the screen for this to work) brings up the "My files" browser. This is essentially the only place you are able to store and access files from, to keep things simple. Apps are also able to create folders and files here, however, only when a user may want to move or access them (Read: No program files, junk files, logs etc should be stored here, they should continue to be invisible to the user or stored in a hidden folder that can be made visible from settings).
The main idea behind this is to let the power users have and move documents at will, Keeping it hidden from those who dont need it, whilst also allowing universal access to the menu to ensure that files can still be moved/deleted inside of the app creating them. The native apps (Photos, Videos, Voice memos, etc) would all have options in the settings menu to make their files visible in the browser, and the creation of folders, and the deletion of files would all happen per standard IOS tradition (Swipe to the right, Long press and drag).
Feel free to post your thoughts below, I'd love to hear some other opinions on the subject.
Note: I'm sure this is obvious, but my photoshop skills are rubbish, so if we could ignore the inconstancies, that would be great.
