How to add the taskbar to the Windows 8.1 start screen?
I've just installed Windows 8.1 and, from what I've seen so far, there's a lot of improvements to make the Desktop mode more front and centre than before, which I really like.
Despite this, I'd like to see the Taskbar added to the Windows 8.1 start screen, just like in the screenshot above. I've found a number of different apps that seem to do this, but I haven't found anything that fits my needs.
StartIsBack, which is what is running in the screenshot above, is the best solution I've found. While it works great, it's bundled with a Start menu with no apparent means of disabling it and I don't want a Start menu; I'm happy with the Start screen.
I've also found Start Menu Modifier, which changes the size of the Start screen to allow the taskbar from the desktop to peek through. The only problem with this is that, when the Desktop isn't the app behind the Start screen (so when you go back to the Start screen from a Modern UI style app), you see the bottom of the last app you've used instead of the taskbar. Start8 also has issues; it doesn't display the Taskbar (or anything) when you go back to the Start Screen from an app.
So, with my issues with the solutions listed above in mind, does anyone know of an app or tweak that can do exactly what I want without any problems?
