I received my Pro 2 yesterday and am already questioning my purchase. I primarily bought the pro in order to replace my broken laptop and to also be a nice tablet replacement. Problem is the Pro is a jack of all trades but a master of none.
As a PC it's display is a bit small
As a Tablet its too thick/heavy, has a relatively small "app store" (modern style apps) and mine has been running a bit hot as well.
The Verge review was spot on (In my opinion of course)
Before the Pro I had a Surface RT and I really noticed a change in my habits, I stopped using my laptop except for work and school assignments (AutoCAD, Office etc.) and would use my RT daily to search the web and play games etc. The problem with the RT was of course performance and the lack of apps.
Now I'm beginning to question if this is the device for me, and better yet if I really want to "limit" myself to the Microsoft ecosystem anymore.
I use the word "limit" because as much as I love Microsoft's vision of the future they just aren't there yet and there are definitely better alternatives out there.
Over the past year I've spent more time trying to "defend" my Microsoft purchases than actually enjoying them.
I'm full in with Microsoft and have been for awhile:
Phone: Lumia 920
PC/Tablet: Surface Pro + Type Cover 2
Gaming: XBOX 360
This is what I'm thinking of switching to:
Phone: HTC One
PC: Inspiron 14 7000 Series
Tablet: iPad Mini + Retina
Gaming: XBOX One
Any suggestions for my switch?
For those who bought their Surface last year and for those just receiving their new devices, are any of you guys having any regrets?
