Just In Time for the Holidays
The "one last thing" is a thing of the past for Apple. Or is it? Tuesday's event seemed to be prepping for something more. There was indeed a lot covered, as stated by the invite, but one more thing seems eminent. What is that one more thing? Accessories! Enter the much rumored iWatch and new AppleTV. The latter which was not even hinted at the event. This may have been a deliberate attempt by Apple. You don't want to show major updates for your "hobby" and enter a new category on the same day as new iPads & OSX release.
How would this event go? The AppleTV would be the opening act. Sell numbers and statistics followed by Mr Cook ceremoniously declaring that it is no longer a hobby. AppleTV finally gets the app store it deserves. But wait there's more. With an official app store comes games. Games that now use iOS devices as controllers, natively supported by iOS7. Yes that means Apple has released a competitive gaming console. Commence demo time with EA games.
Next up, the 100 ton elephant in the room. The mythical iWatch. I can already see Phil on stage smiling ear to ear because he has a jab coming for all the previous "smartwatches." This is followed by demo time and the always present Jony Ive, white background, importance of design christening video. This entire event could be centered around these products being the perfect accessories for your iPhone and iPad. My belief is Apple already has these products being manufactured to have a substantial quantity in time for the stocking stuffers, aka late Christmas Shoppers.
There is one more event coming from Apple in November and we will have to just wait and watch if its "Just In Time for the Holidays."
