When the PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th, there will be a software update already waiting for new owners — and that update is necessary to enjoy some of the console's most basic functions. Chief among these features is the ability to play Blu-ray discs or DVDs, which won't be possible until the update is installed. You also won't be able to utilize Remote Play, which lets gamers play PS4 games on a PS Vita, while other missing features include the ability to play games as they're being downloaded, recording and uploading gameplay using the console's new sharing features, and being able to use voice chat while playing games with friends. Of course, these features will be available once you install the 300MB update, but for those looking to simply enjoy their shiny new PS4 straightaway, they'll be in for a bit of a wait instead.
