Clementine is back, and this time she's on her own. Telltale Games has just revealed the first details for the upcoming second season of its video game series based on The Walking Dead, which will put players in the role of Clem, a young girl who becomes an orphan in the early days of the zombie apocalypse and who helped form the emotional core of season one. Once again the game will be less focused on action, instead tasking players with making difficult moral decisions to help shape the story. "We'll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted," says Telltale CEO Dan Connors.

The first season of The Walking Dead made its debut last April, racking up critical acclaim, including being named 2012's game of the year by our sister site Polygon. Telltale then followed that up with the standalone "400 Days" episode, which served as a bridge between the two seasons, as well as a brand new series called The Wolf Among Us, which debuted earlier this month. The second season of The Walking Dead will follow a similar formula, with five episodes released over of the course of a few months. The decisions you made in season one may even impact what happens in the second season.

No specific date has been announced, but the first episode is expected to launch later this year with the story concluding sometime in 2014. It will be coming to Windows, Mac, iOS, the Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 at launch, "with additional platforms to be announced," according to Telltale.
