Bret McKenzie, half of the New Zealand-based music / comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, is bringing his talents back to TV. According to TV Guide, McKenzie signed a deal with Fox to develop his own animated series alongside King of the Hill veterans Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May. The "workplace comedy" will focus on a group of friends at a near-obsolete NASA space center in Boulder, CO — there's no word on who might be cast to voice these workers, but McKenzie is a "possibility."

McKenzie is best-known for bringing his band to HBO in the Flight of the Conchords series, which lasted for two seasons. Music was an integral part of the show, but there's no indication of whether this new series will feature much in the way of song. Aside from his new show, McKenzie's also busy writing music for the sequel to 2011's The Muppets (his song "Man or Muppet won the 2012 Academy Award for best original song), and he'll also appear in the next two of Peter Jackson's Hobbit films. As for his new animated series, there's no word yet on when it'll make its debut.
