Android Security Flaw

So, I do some tinkering with my phone..... So, I often visit the bootloader, recovery etc.......

But, that's not what I am writing post for.....

I think the recovery mode may hold the key for thieves to gain access of a phone which has a lock or fancy security on it.

I'm not a thief. I'm just an enthusiastic Android user who wants to bring a security flaw on Android phones to notice.

So, let's say there's a screen lock on a phone and say they user has a fancy security suite like Lookout installed....

Instead of trying to figure out the pattern, he can just turn off the phone (yes, the power menu will show up if there is a screen lock). After which, he needs to press the key combo to go to the bootloader and then enter recovery made. After which, he/she has to find the wipe data option, usually it's one of those first options to appear. (On Some devices, you need to press one more key combination for the recovery menu to show up).

After doing this, the phone will be in it's original state, the tracking software you may have installed will be wiped, you cannot track your phone via Android Device Manager.

The only way to track your phone is the IMEI (or is it IMIE) number? So, if someone does this, all hope is not lost.
