WTH happened to Touchless control (in KitKat / N5) ?
Ive been putting off my phone upgrade (eligibility) since July because I was anticipating the low power always on listening with google now that the snapdragon 800 makes possible .
the feature was reported to be possible all over the tech sphere ( i thought) but only on seeing the phone demoed did I realise the feature is not enabled at all!
the feature is very possible, the galaxy note 3 does it will S-voice, with the screen off, providing the user goes into s-voice and enables it as it is off by default.
the feature is of pretty high importance to me at the moment as I have recently become disabled in a fashion that effects my short term memory so the ability to tell my phone on the table/in my pocket etc to make a reminder or quickly send a text etc would be massive.
there is a glimmer of hope for this killer feature as a guy posted on reddit that he had been testing the nexus 5 for six weeks and his test device received update 4.4.1 which gave 3 additional features, ability to backup everything on the device to google drive, 100GB of drive storage AND full, screen off touchless control via google now/voice command
