Fans of the canceled neo-noir drama Veronica Mars can now mark their calendars. After running a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year that hit $5.7 million, series creator Rob Thomas confirmed with Entertainment Weekly today that the film follow-up will land in theaters on March 14th, 2014.

Thomas told EW that he is currently putting the finishing touches on the film, including special effects and the soundtrack. While he wasn't specific about how many theaters the film will reach, the director did state that Warner Bros. intends on a nationwide release — a far grander return than the limited run in select theaters Thomas originally planned. The news comes as a boon for future star-studded projects looking for crowdfunding.

Veronica Mars will see the cast from the original series reunite after 10 years, after Mars' old love Logan Echols is accused of murdering his girlfriend.
