Would Apple's Smart Watch be a Smart Idea?

Hi all! Finally had to jump into the ring here on the Verge. Love the site and have been enjoying all of your posts in the Apple Core (along with the rest of the site). The recent increase in talk about the possible 'iWatch' has led me to weigh in with a little bit of shameless self promotion of a concept I came up with back in October. I am way to wordy for this forum but hopefully the pic I included gives you some idea of what I had in mind.

While many view this possible device as a standalone unit that can connect to your iDevice I think for many reasons it makes more sense as a pure accessory. Simplicity, computing power and battery life are the main reasons, but more then that I think it seems to fit better with Apple's sensibilities. My concept is basically a second screen for what can be described as 'useable' live tiles. As I explain in my article developing for the iWatch would be a simple few steps Apple adds as an API. Think push notifications with more info and limited action on the iWatch. Read on for more and come back here to comment. I started TalkinMac.com as a place to share my concepts and long winded comments but I don't currently allow comments on the site to save myself the headache of moderation.
