Xbox Music......is still letting Spotify just eat it's lunch.

So, on top of the fact that the Xbox music app for Windows/Metro is atrocious, and this is well documented....it's still not cross platform. You can still can not use it in a browser. It's completely anti-social, much less incorporating social features that Zune already had.

Forget Microsoft positioning it as a welcomed alternative to iTunes....because they can't even beat Spotify right now. I see Spotify embeds on Tumblr....and it's just a big reminder of how botched and shitty Xbox Music has been. What's funny to me is that blogs seem to not even be making a stink about how many promises they've failed to make on.

That said I'd still rather use Xbox music than download that ugly ass dark green iTunes client, but they've been genius in the Facebook integration and the embedding capabilities.

The only silver lining I can think of is that they've been so slow because they realized they needed tom completely redesign it from the ground up UI wise, and incorporate better Windows Phone support. So they've had to go back to the drawing board.....or maybe after Sinofsky got booted they finally let the Windows Phone/Ex Zune team in to have their say it. So those possibilities may be slowing this down but it may be better in the long run. But as usual they're constantly behind.

But I want to be able to post embedded streaming links in Facebook and Tumblr. That'd be fun and it would gain huge amounts of exposure, but there's NOTHING and the App itself was announced almost a year ago.
