'Skype calls now equivalent to one-third of global phone traffic!'
I have always been a keen user of Skype; it's all pervasive in my home and work flow, but out of my sphere, I've wondered how popular it actually is! Certainly the word 'Skype' has crossed the threshold to become a verb, but is it really that widespread beyond the media and business world?
I came across this report in Arstechnica (via Liveside.net)
Essentially the article reports that Skype voice and video usage has been growing at a remarkably high and sustained rate, so much so that it now accounts for a sizeable percentage of global phone traffic.
To be honest, I knew Skype was 'popular', but certainly not on this level!
