The Surface Pro can be used in a lap althoug there's a catch

So many of you probably know that the about whole surface-lap dilemma, while some believe its and issue some don't. So after going on the Microsoft website a saw a image that leads me to believe that the surface can actually be used in lap position although without the keyboard. Has anyone tried this with there surface, if so please tell me if its useful.
