Tomorrow's already looking to be a busy day thanks to HTC's big event, but it seems that the company will be sharing the spotlight to some degree. A timer has appeared on Ubuntu's website today hinting at tablet-related news to be revealed tomorrow. Obviously Canonical isn't known for producing its own hardware, so we'd expect any announcements would pertain to a tablet-optimized version of its forthcoming smartphone operating system. Mobile hardware is slated to arrive in October, but Ubuntu will also need to have a touch-friendly presence on tablets if it hopes be viewed as yet another viable candidate in a crowded market of tablet hardware. Canonical seems fully aware of that fact; last month, the company plainly told our own Carl Franzen "we have plans to launch a tablet version of Ubuntu."
