Music app and widget don't play nice, help?

So I'm using the MortPlayer app, which I love because it is folder based, supports themes/different layouts, has an EQ, nearly seamless transitions and some more. One thing I'm not fond of is their widget. It's ugly, over-sized and just doesn't fit with the rest of my theme.

Powertoggles, however, gives me the option of a minimalistic widget which is just a backward, play/pause and forward button. Now that's more like it. But when I press the play button Mortplayer launches and immediately crashes, leaving me to force stop the app.

Does anyone know of a music control widget that works with Mortplayer, and looks good? Or a music player app that works like Mortplayer, but has better widgets/works with Powertoggles?
