Before VFX shows the stark reality of unfinished films
Like it or not, CGI is now an integral part of filmmaking — but the studios that produce the effects aren't fairing so well. So what would todays films look like if no one was around to complete them? A lot of films — even some that you wouldn't expect — would be left with next to nothing. Before VFX shows exactly what such a world looks like, gathering production photos of empty sets and actors on green screens. Though we expect effects in The Hobbit, seeing Daniel Day-Lewis on an empty set for Lincoln is jarring.
