Question about Office 2013 University edition

Hey all,

I'm planning on purchasing the Office 2013 University edition. However, I read somewhere that when MS verifies your .edu account, it creates a new Live account with that email address thus rendering your current Outlook.com account and associated SkyDrive space useless.

I want to know whether this is actually the case or will I be able to associate the University edition with my current Outlook.com account?
