Microsoft surface in Europe and other questions.

Hi,

I am planning to replace my ageing Macbook pro (Early 2009) with something fresh. I am an university Student in Germany, doing my masters in Computer Science.

1) For those who have seen the surface , does it seem like a good device to write code on ? I know it is powerful enough for my needs, but is the screen real estate manageable ?

2) I love the trackpad/keyboard/build quality on my macbook pro. I know that the build quality of the surface is very good, what about the other two. It would suck to go to a new device with an inferior keyboard/trackpad.

3) Any idea on how I could purchase this in Europe ? If not, can you suggest an alternate system given my needs ?
