Chromebooks and Ubuntu are destroying Microsoft.
Linux nor Google never were a direct threat to Microsoft, a PC was $2000 and a notebook even more, the money you could save on an OS was negligible.
This thing is $199, it runs Chrome OS, Ubuntu and any OS you manage to put onto it except Windows. It's a $199 notebook from Acer.
11.6 inch screen, 320GB HDD, Dual core, 2.00 GB RAM
Windows needs to compete in this segement or they're going to lose. Chrome OS might have looked like a joke a few years ago, Ubuntu might have looked cumbersome a few years ago, no longer. These things are directly competing with Microsoft.
