My thoughts on 4.2.1 for the Galaxy S3 (based on the leak) The power of 4.2, smited with Touchwiz
So the 4.2.1 update for the international Galaxy S3 leaked...and I had a look at it
Android 4.2.1 for Galaxy S3 quick look (via Damian Kidd)
I've had a few days with it now, and I can expand of a few points
The stuff that has made it's way into this rom is a welcome addition. Lockscreen widgets (especially dashclock) make this a very nice update.
But be under no aspersions, this is still heavily "Wizzed on" and you can feel it. Not as bad as 4.0.4, and a bit better than the much improved 4.1.2 update, but you can still feel it.
It's missing the panoramic camera, but the multiview feature from the Note 2 and the 4.1.2 S3 update have made it through. Some added voice controls are nice, but I'm yet to use them.
All in all, I'm looking forward to the official update, but it's certainly not a revolution. Perhaps in that respect, it's more similar to the jump from Stock 4.1.2 to 4.2.
