Facebook Announces a New Look for the News Feed
Everyone’s favorite social networking website, Facebook, will be rolling out one major change to their News Feed.
This is one of the biggest changes Facebook will undergo since they added their Timeline, much to the annoyance of users.
If you look at Facebook’s page about the News Feed (https://www.facebook.com/about/newsfeed) you’ll see a radical redesign.
First, there is a big emphasis on images. Facebook has taken the majority of their inspiration from their mobile app. You’ll notice that it is very streamlined, and the desktop and mobile News Feed complement each other.
Another thing that it takes inspiration from is Instagram. Since they own the mobile photo sharing app, it’s reasonable that they would mold Facebook after it.
You’ll find the menus on the right side of the screen now, such as your Photos, Music and Groups. It’s a very streamlined appearance that makes everything simpler.
For those who are using Facebook’s mobile app most of the time, this is probably a welcome change. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that more and more people are using their mobile app, so it makes sense to streamline everything.
You can already try out the new News Feed on your own when you log into Facebook’s main page. You’ll find the button at the top of the screen.
However, Facebook will eventually change it automatically, so you can wait for that too. You can still enjoy the little time that’s left of the old News Feed for now.
