About that mystery Motorola phone....

I'm surprised that there was no talk about this in the forums. I know yesterdays media was mostly dominated by Andy Rubin's departure from the Android team and the looming demise of Google Reader, but seeing this prototype device gives me high hopes for the future of mobile devices.

Seeing the Droid RAZR M last year made me crave a device like this. For all the people that don't require a 5 inch screen for their daily mobile device but still want a sizeable screen, this phone seemed perfect. But of course, we all know the current drawbacks of buying an Android device with a screen smaller than 4.5 inches.

From now on, this clearly doesn't cut it:

In addition to lower quality displays, these phone usually come with slower processors, less ram, and worse designs than their flagship counterparts. This phone is very different however...

Here we a nice looking device (in my opinion), a compact design with a good sized display, and the specs to match (if they are believed to be true):

-4.65-inch 720p AMOLED display (320ppi)

-Snapdragon S4 Pro processor

-Andreno 320 GPU

-2GB of RAM

-2200mAh battery

This is most likely not "X Phone" that Motorola and Google will release (hopefully this year), but I don't want it to be. I want this phone to be every other non-flagship device that is released, so that people truly have choice when it comes to buying Android devices.

I'd like to know what you guys think. Is this just another device for you? Or do you, like I, hope this is a sign of things to come?
