The Question Many Have Been Wondering - HTC One, Galaxy SIV, or "X Phone" Help Each Other Decide!

Some of the most anticipated phones of 2013 have been recently announced...or are rumored to be anyway. I'm having quite some difficulty making my mind up about which phone I should purchase (mentioned in the title above).Of course the X Phone is all purely speculation at this point, but it's safe to say that it will be a flagship phone - at least from what I've read. Also, I'm only in Year 8 and this is the first smartphone I will be buying, the closest thing to which I've had is my iPod Touch and my family's' iPad 2...Yeah, sorry Apple. Before I give my opinions about each one, here are some things I look for in a phone: (take the things about the X Phone with a pinch of salt)

  • A great display - all of which these will have,
  • Great build quality and a stylish, thin design
  • Awesome battery life (I guess all of these will have, seeing my iPod Touch only has a 930 mah battery)
  • Amazing performance (Sick of apps crashing, etc.)
  • Great camera
  • Reliable future software updates (Not important if I install ROMs)
So the One has probably the best display on the market right now. I really like IPS and LCD panels over the AMOLED ones commonly seen in Samsung's devices. Brighter and more accurate colours and more important to me than pure blacks and greater colour saturation. The One is also probably the best built Android phone yet and has a pretty decent camera from what I've seen. The feature that kills the One for me is the battery life, which I thought HTC would have fixed seeing that it was basically the largest complaint about their flagships last year. Maybe it will be fine for me, who knows? But it's the one (no pun intended) thing that's keeping me back from pressing that pre-order button.
I was hoping that the Galaxy S4 would be the perfect phone, but it's really something more of an evolutionary upgrade rather than a revolutionary one from the GS3. I hated the plastic construction of previous Galaxy phones, so I'm sure I won't be impressed this time too. Battery life seems to be taken care of, and because I don't live in the US, the Exynos 5 Octa is something I think really draws me to this phone...The jump from single-core to octa-core *nerdgasm*. Yes, I know it really isn't 8 cores, more like a beefed up quad-core but it would give me so much power!!! Mwhahahaha! However, some of the quick sample photos taken with the GS4 have been quite atrocious in comparison to the One, so that and the plastic construction is holding me back from what could have been my dream phone ;( I'm saving all judgement until I have read a lot of the reviews of course, so I guess I'll have to wait until then.
There isn't much I can say about the X Phone, except that it's rumored to be announced a Google I/O this year, along with a new Nexus 7 tablet. If the rumors don't start picking up, I'll just assume it's something still in development and I might just grab the new Nexus 7 for that Key Lime Pie goodness!
Thanks for reading, I really appreciate it. Please leave your own opinions about which one is the best, or why you might be deciding to buy one over the other? Any help and feedback is much appreciated!
Sam ;)
