Joshua Topolsky in "You've Got Mail"???
My wife and I like to watch movies together. We've got a big backlist that we are working through, including my idea of a "romantic movie" - You've Got Mail. Its from 1998, stars Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.....we know he's The Bad Guy because the big evil businessman who only cares about the bottom line uses a PC laptop (IBM Thinkpad), while the sweet, caring, artistic, dreamer who owns an-independent-bookstore-thats-going-out-of-business expresses herself through a Mac (Powerbook something or other)

Joshua Topolsky was Editor in Chief of Engadget. Engadget was bought by AOL. "You've Got Mail" focuses around the soundclip AOL email users heard when they received a new email, "YOU GOT MAIL!". Joshua Topolsky look-a-like is an extra in a movie named after the AOL sound clip. He has spoken on the Vergecast of a "Deli" where he used to buy sandwiches. An extra in "You've Got Mail" shows up in the supermarket scenes, at the deli section.
HENCEFORTH ITS PERFECT LOGIC THAT JOSHUA TOPOSLKY WAS AN EXTRA IN A MOVIE RECORDED IN 1998!!!! :-)
The extra is also at the back of the line, "cash only!"
Meg Ryan, having a doubletake: "Did I just see Joshua Topolsky in a Rom Com?"
Joshua Topolsky: "act cool, tell them they're mistaken, I'm just a regular white guy with a regular white guy name, Jake Topper....."
To brighten your day, please enjoy a "You've Got Mail" clipshow :-)
