Thoughts on Vine
Vine is awesome. It’s (technologically) impressive, addictive, fun, and beautifully designed, but I’m not sure if it can grow to be as big as Instagram or Snapchat. Videos (even 6-second ‘GIF’s’) are not an easily digestible medium. By that I mean that you need the necessary bandwidth (macro-based infrastructure) and time (micro-based user attention) to consume them. Conversely, photos, a la Instagram and Snapchat, are easily digestible: quick to download and quick to view. — Cross posted from Path.
