Brilliant, unibody design, made out of aluminum. The display is absolutely gorgeous, and the 4:3 aspect ratio makes it very comfortable to hold in any orientation, though it's not as pleasant to watch 16:9 movies on it as it is reading or playing a game. The rear-facing camera has far exceeded my expectations, though the front-facing camera is less than sufficient. The speakers are suitable for watching movies and videos, but they're by no means good for music of any genre, and I wish they were front-firing speakers instead of being in the back of the device. Performance on the A5X is more than adequate, though I do notice some lags and jitters occasionally, that are probably caused by the massive screen-resolution; but streaming Real Racing 3 to an Apple TV through AirPlay on a 20Mbps WiFi connection causes borderlines unacceptable. iOS is easy to use, and connects extremely well with my other Apple products, but I keep hoping for more, and I hate JailBreaking. The battery life is superb - with little-to-no heavy usage, I can get through 3 days on a single charge, EASILY; the only downside is that it's painfully long to recharge. As usual with iOS, the ecosystem is fantastic, both software and hardware - the huge iTunes library of music, movies, apps and games is phenomenal, and the infinite amount of accessories is overwhelming.
This is the second-best tablet on the market today -- second only to Apple's own 4th-gen iPad. The screen is just begging for better performance (delivered with the 4th-gen iPad), more complex software, a better front-facing camera (this, too, has been delivered with the 4th-generation) and front-firing speakers. I wish it would also recharge faster (which I heard the 4th-gen iPad is better at), but that's far from being a deal-breaker, as battery life is more than sufficient.
