UI consistency across windows
Does anyone feel that the visual studio 2012 interface is far more refined and "metro" than the rest of the Windows 8 operating system especially when compared to Office 2013 and the desktop? Everything down to the icons and scroll bar look more sophisticated and more unified. In addition, I'm not sure why the UI across everything is not unified. Scroll bars in VS2012 are not the same as those in Office among many other things. This is frustrating.
The designers need to have a coordinated lead to ensure uniformity across all MS products!
BTW I have been trying to find a Visual Studio talk where the presenter discusses the UI and some of the major challenges the team had when designing the new UI. If anyone knows where I could find the video I would appreciate it. I think the video was somewhere posted on one the MS sites and was a presentation to developers previewing the new software. Thanks.
