At 93, Newt Wallace is the oldest paperboy in the world
Since 1947, Newt Wallace has walked the same paper route every week, delivering copies of the Winters Express to the residents of Winters, California. At 93 years old, Wallace is soon to be recognized as the oldest paperboy in the world — he's a full eight months older than the current Guinness World Record holder, Ted Ingram. The New York Times profiles Wallace, looking back at a career that dates back to 1930. As the nonagenarian reflects on a time when he was many peoples' primary source of the news, The Times points to Wallace as a dying breed, just like the papers he has painstakingly delivered for over 80 years.
