So is 1080p worth it?

Recently, we have seen manufacturers such as HTC and Sony cram 1080p displays onto 5 inch phones. But is this new display tech beneficial for windows phone? Should Microsoft update WP to work on 1080p displays or keep the 720p ones? Do we really need the display of high end laptops on a 4-5 inch screen? I say no, but what do you guys think?
