just noticed my service is super low

i noticed recently that my cell service has been pretty low lately, 1-3 bars. my phone as far as i can remember has always had full service in my house. i've read about the jailbrake effecting the service, but i jailbroke it shortly after the jalbrake came out, so i dont understand why recently its been so low. any ideas?
