Is Microsoft trying to revolutionize input?

Microsoft thinks that it desperately needs to change up its game to really innovate. To that end, they did something drastically different, to prime users to with new techniques for getting around Windows. They seem to want to incorporate new input methodology into Windows, and I think this is their first steps.

I think voice and camera are next; I think they love things like LeapMotion (see: Kinect). Windows 9 could incorporate one of the two or both, while they fine-tune touch. I'm surprised that Apple hasn't integrated Siri into OSX, but if Microsoft beats them to the punch with a worthy competitor, it might become a sincere, compelling selling point.

Look at the reaction to touch in Windows 8! Do you think that Microsoft plans to incorporate new user input schemes into Windows (and the rest of their properties) in order to compete?
