Android needs more sexy devices
Why are Android devices so visually boring? I've been using my Galaxy Nexus that I have owned since December of 2011. For the most part, I have no problems with it, besides the horrible battery life that I've grown accustom to. When I pick it up, however, I don't feel like I'm holding a flagship device.
I know the phone is from 2011 but when I pick up my mom's iPhone 4S, I think, "Wow, this is a solid device." It feels great to hold and you can tell that it's made in a higher standard than most phones today.
The HTC One looks great and it's definitely a step in the right direction. But that's just one phone out of the hundreds of "flagship" devices made each year. The Galaxy S4 had such great potential, but they took their same old plastic garbage and put new internals inside. Samsung has used the same design in their phone for the last three iterations. Is this the kind of inspiration that customers want? The hardware is fantastic, I'll admit, but when I hold these devices, I don't feel as if it's a $199 purchase.
Do Android users want more aesthetically pleasing phones? Or are they content with using what's already released. I'd love to hear what people think.
