Autolog: Automobile Discussion Thread (April 2013)
We've all got our own passions and communities to share them with, and cars are a popular topic for discussion. Automotive interests have long been something I've held dearly, and I'm sure there are more fellow car lovers here on The Verge.
There are perhaps no other transport methods with the same surrounding passion. Cars have forged friendships and communities, and they're more than just "four wheels and an engine". For many, they're an extension of themselves, or a canvas for personal expression. You can tell a lot about a person from their car and how they treat it.
If you're wondering why this one is marked 'Prototype', it beats calling it a test. I've no idea if it's popular enough to warrant a monthly thread but we'll soon find out, won't we? It's just like showing off a prototype car, right? Right?

I created a playlist with a mixture of genres for your listening pleasure, whether that's in your car or not. As I've no idea what everyone might want there's a bit of a mixture, including music from Kavinsky and a remix from Enter Shikari. It's a bit of a jumble but you might stumble upon something you like.
Feel free to suggest tracks for a future playlist, or even create your own. I'm curious what kind of music you're all into!
April has been an interesting month in regards to automotive news. We've seen Jalopnik's Jason Torchinsky to lose his beloved Volkswagen Beetle, only to be reunited with it, Maserati's Ghibli, and the people of Bahrain protesting against the Bahrain Grand Prix... among other things. Things which are, coincidentally, listed below!
- $300 cars in New York after Hurricane Sandy blew through - Jalopnik
- English thieves getting jailed for fencing stolen cars - The Star
- A Fiat 500 with a Lamborghini V12 - CarSite.co.uk
- Much more bland Saudi police cars (since they've got Ferraris and Lamborghinis already) - Drive Arabia
- A look at the historic American metal on display in Cuba - MotorTrend
