What Netflix should add: a set of well-reviewed "channels" (shows, movies) that a user can flip through when bored
Netflix should add "channels" to their non-web clients (Xbox, PS3, Apple TV, Roku, etc.) that basically show well-reviewed TV shows and movies so users can flip through if they can't find anything, watch 30 seconds or so along with reading a synopsis of the show and see some reviews (maybe in a translucent sidebar over the current scene), and if they choose to watch it, the show or movie will start from the beginning with one button. I've noticed Netflix is eagerly trying to be the next TV by not being like traditional TV, but borrowing the "i'll just see what's on" aspect of TV would really help them with this goal. Their current feature where the next episode starts 15 seconds after the last one ends is great at doing this: it hooks the user and makes it difficult to turn it off, but a flippable set of "channels" would really help as well. Let me know what you guys think of this idea, and anyone from Netflix, feel free to use my idea!
