This is the Future of the Mobile Gaming Industry
The following is just my arrogant and ill-informed opinion from my limited environment...
I'm seeing a trend towards the three following things.
- Lack of Originality
- Short and low on content
- Reliance on DLC and in-game purchases
I understand that out of the 140,000 appstore games there are a couple dozen gems. However, those games account for less than 1% of the total, and most don't even possess quality that match dedicated-handheld console games, such as the 3DS or PSP. I recently watched this video of a garbage game which reminded me of mobile gaming in general. Obviously not all games are this bad, but you will get the point.
