Oculus Rift and the Kinect?

I'm sure you're all familiar with the Oculus Rift, the newest virtual reality attempt being worked on. It's a pair of goggles that puts you in the game, you can look around etc. I was just thinking how amazing it would be coupled with the xbox's Kinect system. The Kinect would watch you're movements, like raising your arms for instance. You raise your hand in front of your face, and through the Oculus Rift headset you see your game avatar's hand. The level of immersion would be insane!

Finding a way to remove the traditional controller would greatly increase the Rift's enjoyability. Maybe to move forward or backward, the Kinect sees you leaning your head forward or back and your character walks, maybe turning your head to either side to a point will make your character turn around. They need to eliminate moving with the controller altogether to make the illusion as real as possible, and make the disconnect between looking and moving less apparent.

If you had a motion detected controller like the Wii, it could sense it's position for your avatar's hands, and you would use the buttons for any actions.

I hope this kind of tech pans out, it would be really great.
