J.J. Abrams, director of the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, believes that legendary composer John Williams will reprise his role for the much-anticipated sequel. In comments made at a press conference for Star Trek Into Darkness, Abrams praised the work of current collaborator Michael Giacchino, but said that Williams is likely to return to Star Wars.

"For Star Wars, it’s very early days to know, but I believe that, going forward, John Williams will be doing that film, because apparently he was there long before I was."

Williams has composed the soundtrack for all six Star Wars movies to date, and his work on the franchise includes some of the most recognizable film scores of all time. While little has been officially revealed about Star Wars: Episode VII ahead of its planned 2015 release, there are indications of a return for some original cast members.
