Do secondary cameras matter in phones?

My ideal phone would tick all of these criterias:

  • Windows Phone 8
  • 4.0", 800x480
  • 1GB RAM
  • >1.0GHz dual-core
  • >1500 mAh battery
  • > 5MP camera
  • A secondary camera

There are many phones that tick some of the boxes, but none of them ticks all of the boxes. Because I'm extremely particular about phone sizes (even 4.3" is really pushing it for me, I don't get the deal with big phones), the phone I am currently considering is the Lumia 520.

It has, just about, the perfect dimensions. The only other phones that I think has the best dimensions are all 4.0" phones, like the Galaxy S Advance or the Windows Phone 8S.

It misses out on 3 criterias with only 512MB RAM and a 1430 mAh battery, but then again it's a relatively cheap phone, so they're compromises I'm comfortable making. The one that I'm uncertain about is the lack of a secondary camera.

To me, I only use the secondary camera to check my tie, and the last time I used it for a video call must be during the release of Facetime when I wanted to test it with my iPod Touch.

Does anyone of you have a particular feeling or opinion on secondary cameras? I'd love for you guys to share it here.

(I, have a rant to make on phones with big screens and big resolutions. But that's for another time on another post.)
