Slipping from its March release date, Asus has announced UK availability and pricing for its new voice-supporting Fonepad Android tablet. Customers will be able to pre-order the 7-inch Asus Fonepad starting on April 12th for £179.99 from UK retailers Carphone Warehouse, Sainsburys and Amazon, with an expected shipping date of April 26th. The 16GB model comes in just between the 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi only Nexus 7 models (which are priced at £159 and £199 respectively), but of course offers that all-important calling support.

The Fonepad features Intel's Atom Z2420 processor, offers 1GB of RAM, a 1280 x 800 display, a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera and a 3-megapixel on the rear, 10 hours of battery life, and runs Android 4.1. According to TechRadar, Asus is working to push an update to Android 4.2 as quickly as possible.
