Around what time did we transition to typed essays? Also, cursive still taught?
Does anyone remember (those who are old enough) around what time teachers required essays to be typed? I remember we use to have to write in pen for final drafts, with typed papers gradually phased in as more people started owning computers. It was so gradual it's hard to pin point when it exactly happened; weird considering I lived through the transition.
And on a somewhat related note, do they still teach cursive writing in public schools? Anyone here know and still use longhand, or is it pretty much a dead art?
