Sonic the Hedgehog 1 v2.0 for iOS....

...looks seriously beautiful! v2.0's complete redesign of the menu interface is smooth and crisp, with a nice new feeling; I downloaded the update this morning and for the first 5 minutes I literally just marveled how much better and different it is compared to the old interface. After playing around for a bit in the menu I finally started a game to see that it plays like a dream. It looked fresh and a lot more playable than the old version. In the previous version, it didn't run as smoothly (certainly not at the 60 FPS that v2.0 does) and the controls, specifically the D-pad, were quite fickle, but now they're just fine. The remastered music sounds awesome, which is another huge plus. So is the new widescreen support. But, for those of you who were waiting for this update as I was, I can probably say that not a lot of us expected to see Tails or Knuckles in this version. That was a great surprise to say the least. We had a bit of a taste of Christian Whitehead's work in 2012 with the port of Sonic CD (which was also great), and now we get this....Bravo, sir. I just hope that the iOS port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 can get a makeover like Sonic 1 did.

Okay. I'm done rambling, for anybody who's reading.
